VÖGELN did not start with a business plan. It started with an artist, a bar, and a drawing on a lighter.
The two of us met by coincidence. A couple of encounters later, we were friends. One afternoon he started drawing — the way artists do, without announcement — and ended up drawing on one of my lighters. That was the moment. What if that drawing didn't disappear? What if the temporary became permanent? What if art took the shape of an object you carried with you every day?
We sat on the idea. A year passed. We crossed paths again. We picked up exactly where we left off. That is how VÖGELN began.

The Name
VÖGELN is German. It means birds. It also means, in slang, to make love.
Both meanings are intentional. Both meanings are the brand.
The design philosophy comes from the way my partner sees the world — everything starts from a single point and grows outward. The observation of the world around you. The feeling of moving through the unknown. The interaction between yourself and everything outside of you. It is like birds cutting through open sky, feeling the current slip through their feathers — that freedom, that sensation, that full presence in the moment. And it is like two people crossing paths, the physical and the spiritual meeting, creating something that did not exist before.
That is VÖGELN.

The Objects
We did not want to make things that sit behind glass.
We wanted to make things that are touched. Things that are worn every day, carried in pockets, held in hands, pressed against skin. Things that go through life with you — and show it.
Every VÖGELN piece is finished with controlled oxidation. Over time, with wear, the surface changes. It marks. It ages. That is not a flaw. That is the proof. Proof that you have been somewhere, done something, lived a life. The object carries it with you.
VÖGELN pieces are meant to be worn. Brought out into the world. Seen. Admired. Loved.

The Person
He does not announce himself.
He walks in quietly, moves through the room, and you notice him. You are not sure why at first. He is not performing. He is not trying. He is simply, completely himself — the way the best hip hop has always been — true to what he feels, shaped by what he has sensed and observed, creating something new from it.
That is the VÖGELN person. Unhurried. Certain. Noticed.

The Experience
When your order arrives, it does not come in a jewellery box.
That is deliberate. The packaging tells you, before you have even opened it, that this is something different. Every part of the unboxing — the cigarette box, the vacuum seal — is considered. Intentional. It keeps telling you: this is not jewellery.
And yet you will sense, in every detail, that nothing was accidental.
That is the point.
